Resumes Not Required!
Responding to the common hiring bottleneck of resume screening, Connecticut-based AccuHire.com Corporation has created an Internet-based, resume-free recruiting system. Accuhire’s president Joe Stimac notes, “Recruiters are faced with the same problem every day – the need to quickly sort through piles of resumes to identify qualified candidates.” Resumes are not standardized documents and often lack necessary information, so reviewing those documents is extremely time-consuming.
The solution, Accuhire believes, is to remove resumes from the recruiting process. The Accuhire system is a competency-based means of profiling applicants. Applicants respond online to a series of questions and are prompted for information on relevant work and educational experience. The result is a streamlined, efficiently organized, complete candidate profile that saves time and improves screening accuracy. “Recruiters who once poured through stacks of resumes can now immediately see a list of rank-ordered applicants based on the position’s requirements,” says Stimac.
During Accuhire’s product development and testing processes, the company solicited ideas from leading organizations. Stimac explains: “We asked them to identify their toughest recruitment challenges. By gathering this information directly from recruiters, we were able to pinpoint and resolve weaknesses in the process.” Being bogged down with paperwork, response delays, and lost opportunities were common complaints.
Accuhire HCMS is an Internet-based, competency-based applicant screening, assessment and tracking system. This paperless system helps companies improve speed-to-hire by automating time-consuming tasks such as applicant screening, interview preparation, and applicant tracking.
